Description

This community-based project takes place in the Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve, opposite the Anavilhanas Archipelago, one of the largest in the world. The place is surrounded by the immensity of the Amazon, full of wonderful landscapes and deep experiences.

The activies are designed and guided by those who know the region best: the local people. The most authentic experiences are combined according to the profile and interests of each group so guests can enjoy it at their own pace.

Why is this trip at GoLocal?

Developed by the riverine communities of Tumbira and Santa Helena do Inglês, this project generates income for about 60 families.

Riverine culture and traditions are valued and preserved, strengthening the identity of local communities. In addition, eco-tourism contributes to reducing deforestation pressure and encourages environmental conservation.

Intercultural exchanges with visitors enrich the daily life of communities who are delighted to create a connection with them.

The Poranduba communities are 64 kilometers from Manaus, accessible by boat only. There are three transportation options, one operated by them and two independent. You can go one way and come back another.

1. Charter boat: We offer a fast and comfortable speedboat to pick you up from “Marina do Davi” in Manaus, on the day and time set by you. It takes 1,5 hours and costs around U$ 160/passenger.

2. Express Boat: It is a speedboat that makes the trip in 2,5 hours. It leaves from Manaus to the communities every Friday, at 3 p.m.,  and goes back to Manaus on Sundays at 4:20 p.m. at the cost of around U$12 dolars each way per passenger.

3. Regional Boat: It is a typical line boat from the region, which takes 5 hours to the communities. You must bring hammocks to sleep on!

It leaves from Manaus to the communities on Tuesdays and Fridays, always at 8 p.m.,  and goes back to Manaus on Sundays and Thursdays at dawn (arriving in Manaus at 6 a.m.) at the cost of around U$10 dolars each way per passenger.
